I am not disputing what Archbishop Vigano is saying that paganism has desecrated the sanctity of the Vatican, RE: Amazon Synod. This came out  in an article of www.lifesitenews.com. I am merely saying we should be careful because we, and the hundreds of people we forward articles to, may be victims of bias and wrong information, and agents of Satan without knowing.

Life Site News is known as an anti-Pope e-magazine which has been carrying such questionable information about the Pope. I caught them red-handed with ACCUSATIONS OF HERESY AGAINST POPE FRANCIS, which, upon my looking deeply into it, is baseless and ridiculous, a black propaganda that has sadly gone viral. I myself am a staunch critic of Pope Francis, but false information is not criticism.

Before I prove the accusation wrong, let me state what is happening. When we read mountains of information in the Internet, we tend to skim the surface and by reflex share to hundreds if not thousands the misinformation without knowing it. It is easy for misinformation to go viral this way. This is because we fail to read the details. Here is how I caught Life Site News red-handed.

In the intricate hard-to-understand 20-page open letter, 18 signatories, mostly editors and academicians who are not necessarily an authority on Church issues and dogmas, with a sprinkle of prelates, issued a vague and unfounded accusation against Pope Francis of the ‘crime’ of ‘heresy’.

A Life Site News article, which cites the letter, does not describe the exact nature of the ‘crime’, and uses vague accusations; for example, the Pope’s “positions (are) contrary to the faith”, and “dubious support of prelates (with) clear disrespect for the Church’s faith and morals”.

SUCH A DEEP ACCUSATION OF HERESY HAS TO GIVE DETAILS EXPLICITLY AS HARD EVIDENCE, WHICH WERE ABSENT. WHAT ARE THE ‘POSITIONS CONTRARY TO FAITH’? WHO ARE THE ‘PRELATES’ AND WHAT WERE THEIR CRIMES OF DISRESPECT? IF IT FAILS TO SHOW THIS, THE ARTICLE BECOMES A BASELESS DEMOLITION JOB, A PR STATEMENT FOR THE ANTI-POPE INTERNET MOVEMENT.

‘Heresy’ is defined as “belief or opinion contrary to orthodox religious doctrine.” Many of the stated 20 instances of ‘heresy’ in the open letter are vague and questionable. The first accusation of heresy states –

“Amorsi Laetitia 295: ‘Saint John Paul II proposed the ‘law of gradualness’ in the knowledge that the human being ‘knows, loves, and accomplishes moral good by different stages of growth’. This is not a ‘gradualness of law’ but a gradualness in the prudential exercise of free acts on the part of the subjects who are not in the position to understand, appreciate, or fully carry out the objective demands of the law. (I, II, IV).”

THERE IS NO CRIME OF HERESY EVIDENT IN THIS QUESTIONABLE STATEMENT. The letter simply pits the words of the two Popes against each other, who are both not exercising their rights to ‘infallibility’ (Papal right to issue unquestionable dogmatic statements). It is actually the OPINION OF THE OPEN LETTER THAT THE TWO PAPAL STATEMENTS ARE CONTRADICTORY WITHOUT SHOWING THE STATEMENTS THEMSELVES. The entire open letter is littered with vague dogmatic jargon hard to understand, which prove nothing of heresy.

A signature campaign to gain a false sense of mass support is ongoing, even as the open letter is not clear and its details not read in-depth by new signatories.

The vague accusation against Pope Francis in the open letter is the tip of the iceberg. The unwarranted demolition job against the Papacy is piling up in the minds of global readers. The anti-Pope movement is rapidly gaining ground. Without disrespect to valid criticisms, are the anti-Pope advocates and we, who spread their lies, agents of Satan without knowing it? Satan’s strategy is to sow conflict and confusion.

Read for yourself the original 20-page letter and the Life Site News article that has made fools of us and that went viral because of us. Read in depth, especially the 20 accusations of heretical deeds. Let us counter this black propaganda against not just the Pope but entire the Church.

HOW TO RESPOND TO THE CHURCH IN CRISIS

Many may not know that there is now a deepening crisis within the Church, as predicted by Our Lady of Fatima and Our Lady Mediatrix of All Grace. It is also very evident in Social Media.

The crisis is due to a ‘war’, an ever-widening gap between Conservatives and Liberals among our Church officials, from the Pope down to the lowliest prelate. The conflict is sadly from within. The ‘war’ is polarizing rapidly in Cyberspace. There is a wide range of issues covering liturgy, ecumenism, rituals, dogma, the pedophile epidemic, the gay issue, false prophets, and many more. There are good and false arguments on both sides. It is too complex for this article to tackle, which aims to simply clarify and guide people how to discern and respond to the crisis. In that war, Pope Francis is a target of both sides. He is the rope in an ecclesiastical tug-of-war.

Pope Francis is not beyond criticism. It is good to criticize, as he is human and needs to be corrected if he is wrong. But when he becomes a victim of black propaganda, we should be worried because we may BE contributing to the Church in crisis. We must criticize without desecrating or insulting the Papacy, which is a creation of Jesus himself. The critics blame the Pope for inducing the crisis, when they themselves are the cause of the crisis.

The battlefield is the Internet, where confusion and misinformation reigns. The best attitude perhaps for the faithful is to STAY AWAY FROM UNPROVEN DISPUTES, STOP FORWARDING WHAT YOU DO NOT KNOW, AND JUST PRAY HARD, pray for the Lord to dissipate this crisis, pray for both sides of the conflict to be gentler, to not resort to insults and black propaganda. There is a tendency towards hostile debate rather than amicable dialogue, towards adversity.

Most of the ongoing Internet debates are on the intellectual plain. BUT OUR FAITH IS MORE OF THE HEART THAT OF THE MIND. There is the danger of the discussions becoming personal and the ego blurring issues. Just watch in Social Media how this is happening. EVERYONE IS PONTIFICATING IN THE INTERNET. Adversity and rash judgements are the dominant moods. As a result, we lose focus from prayer to fault-finding, dwelling on our anger. We have to be cautious about Internet articles and debates. We have to be aware to love each other in the face of conflicts.

Let us listen to the wisdom of the heart of Jesus, Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta, and Saint Teresa of Avila.
