1- HOW TO PRAY WITH THE BIBLE

If you pray every morning, and are getting tired, or thinking God may be getting tired of your repetitive prayer, find new ‘creative’ ways of praying, such as reading short Bible excerpts as meditation points. This document gives beginners a proper background on the Bible to start you off. The power of the Internet has made Bible reading so easy, as shown in no. 5.

01
There are two essential steps in Bible-praying a) short prayer-meditation, b) reading of lengthier events or anecdotes. In both, reading must be followed by meditating or internalizing what you read, and juxtaposing it to your present lives, your work and relationship problems, your family life.

02
a) short prayer-meditation. There are prayer areas in the Bible which can form the staple of your daily prayer. These can be, for a beginner, the Books of Psalms, Proverbs, and Isaiah, to start with. You can graduate to discover other books later, like Ecclesiastes and Jeremiah. You can read sequentially or randomly one to two-minute excerpts from these prayer areas. Because the Bible is so thick, you can start discovering books you like slowly as you keep using it. You need not take a course.

The Psalms, for example, has 150 songs or psalms, enough to keep you going for six months of daily prayer. It is enough to read half or one song and meditate on its message, and juxtapose it to your present-day life. Others prefer to read two to three songs. It is up to you, how much time you have before your daily grind.

The trilogy books of Psalms-Proverbs-Isaiah, are found one after the other. You can download these three from the Internet, and get a master printout you can carry with you instead of a heavy Bible. You can also email this to your friends as your apostolate in spreading the Word of God. Remember that sharing your prayers is a more powerful prayer than just praying on your own. Don’t think only of yourself. Make it a habit to have an apostolate of sharing, by forwarding prayers to friends.

03
b) reading of lengthier events or anecdotes. After the staples or prayer readings, you can read Bible stories, for example, the life of Jesus, His words, precepts, parables, homilies or sermons. A good start would be the four Gospel books – Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. They are found one after the other in the New Testament.

04
Use a yellow marker to highlight inspirational texts so that you can go back to them later on. That is all you need as a beginner. You are on your way as a daily Bible reader. Do not forget the essential – you are praying and talking to God, and juxtaposing all the problems and gems of your daily life and offering it to Him.

05
One last point is using the power of the Internet to easily search for items in the Bible, copy-pasting portions you can email to friends as an apostolate. Go to the Bible website– http://www.biblestudytools.com/exodus/16.html It is so easy to use. There is a search box at the top-left where you can place keywords. Place the word ‘manna’ and click ‘search’, and a listing instantly is given of all portions of the Bible, Old and New Testament, which contain the word ‘manna’. You can search for chapters, e.g. Psalm 103 or verses Psalm 103:5-7. This powerful tool can make you discover the Bible faster.

There are many versions of the Bible, so choose one you like. If you have no preferences yet, you can start with the popular New International Version (NIV), King James, Good News, etc. Go to a small drop-down box at the top right and click your choice. Go through several versions so you can select one you like. Some use archaic language, some modern.

You can click a button and LISTEN instead of READ the Bible. You can listen to the Bible while working, eating, driving through heavy traffic, or before going to bed. On the top left, below the search box, is an icon giving play-pause-wind-rewind. Turn on your speaker and click the speaker icon next to it.

Finally, after you search and read a chapter or verse, there is a portion at the bottom saying ‘view in parallel’ and ‘compare translation’ which can relate the chapter or verse you just read to other versions and other related events.

2- MADONNA FOUND ON OCEAN FLOOR (video)

Bohol is an island in the Philippines, scene of a recent devastating earthquake, a prime global tourism destination. A local tourism promoter posted a Youtube video about a statue of our Lady in the deep off Bohol. He said it was placed there to stop dynamite fishing. Realizing the powerful footage could draw him his own viewers, an Indian posted it again, falsely claiming it was found off Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean during the search for the missing Malaysian aircraft.

Pope Francis commissioned the original statue of Our Lady of Fatima to be sent to Bohol after the earthquake, the whereabouts of which is not known after the millennium storm Yolanda (Haiyan). The footage seems to be giving a message – that we need to pray more in this era of continuing disasters. Watch this video.

Oh, Mary, Queen of Peace,
pray for us who have recourse to You.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

ANCIENT FILIPINO NATURE MEDICINE

The multinational pharmaceuticals fear this type of article going viral in the Internet. Even just oregano leaves, no. 1, if it goes viral worldwide, can cost them billions in losses within weeks. Here are simple cures for simple ailments from ancient Filipino folk medicine.

01 Oregano leaves.
This is a very powerful expectorant for colds and flu, especially if taken as fresh leaves chewed, although a little bit bitter. Wash with warm brine to kill bacteria. Have a glass of sweet tea to wash off the bitter taste. You can add water and blend into a paste, but do not cook. In blended form, one tablespoon three times a day is good.

02 Wood or Coconut Shell Coal.
This is used for instant effective relief of severe diarrhea. Wash wood coal first with plain water to remove dust. Do not use soap. Grind a chunk into fine powder, add warm water, and drink like tea. A chunk the size of a ping-pong ball can make about three half-a-cups. Two to three half cups a day is good. Coal absorbs excess bacteria-laden fluids in the intestine. The best kind of coal is from coconut shell. Take a glass of sweet tea to wash off the taste.

03 Dried squash seeds. (Albanian)
This is for swollen prostate, aside from being an aphrodisiac. Take ¼ to ½ kilo a week, even more. Some may react to too much salt in the seed’s skin. You don’t have to ingest the salt if you know how to bite off the skin. However, wash your mouth after. Also, it has some uric acid.

04 Neem tree leaves.
This is used for skin diseases, especially psoriasis or skin fungi infections. Wash the leaves with warm brine, add water and use a blender. Boil like tea for 30 minutes. Retain only the water, using a sieve. If your psoriasis begins to itch violently, you are getting healed. You can refrigerate and reheat portions to avoid spoiling. Neem leaves are also taken orally, dried and ground into capsule form. But be careful as dosage has not been accurately determined. Also, in capsule form, it may develop fungi within a month or so. Very effective ‘cure-all’, anti-cancer, anti-arthritris, anti-toxin, etc.

05 Gall of chicken.
This is used as a very effective antidote against malaria, better than chemical medicine. It is used by Medical Mission Sisters in remote areas of Mindanao-Sulu where there is no western medicine. The best are the powerful snake or iguana gall, but chicken will do. This is very bitter, so wash it immediately with a sweet drink. Some swallow the open gall bladder itself to avoid tasting the bitterness. It is hard to take but if you have the deadly cerebral type of malaria and you are in a remote area, you have no choice. Chicken gall has saves thousands of lives in malaria endemic areas in the south.

06 Bittermelon leaves.
(Ampalaya in Pilipino). This is very effective in bringing down high fever instantly. Place the leaves on arms, legs, armpits, chest, back, then wrap with linen and or towel, or use a tight long sleeve t-shirt and long pants. The leaves absorbs body heat rapidly. Within half an hour, when the leaves are ‘cooked’, there is no more fever.

07 Fresh coconut juice.
This washes and cleans the kidney. It can melt uric stones if taken massively. Take it at will the whole day. It is a diuretic, so complement with water. Take bananas to regain lost potassium. It is also used as a substitute to intra-venus dextrose in emergency situations. It is also used as a substitute to motor oil in emergency situations (viscosity and temperature tolerance is less), but only if your car is calibrated properly.

08 Virgin coconut oil (VCO).
This is known to be a ‘cure-all’, good for all types of blood and organ ailments. Anti-toxin, anti-cancer, cures arthritis, neutralizes excess uric acid in the blood without damaging the kidneys. Three tablespoons a day before meals. You will feel the effects within two weeks. VCO is processed without heat or any added substances.

09 Kamote tops, or leaves.
Rich in Iron, this cheap leafy vegetable strengthens the blood against dengue. Boil and drink the soup and eat the leaves. It is food for peasants and the poor, being grown abundantly in backyards.

10 Sunflower or eucalyptus leaves.
These are powerful insect repellants. Fresh leaves are placed in closets to ward off cockroaches. Eucalyptus leaves are made by the Chinese into Catol, a slow burning incense that repels mosquitoes. The Ifugao tribes of the Cordillera use fresh sunflower leaves as anti-insect ‘floor wax’.

SPLITTING UKRAINE – The Lesser Evil

When both sides have non-negotiables, issues beyond compromise, the only resort is an incision to contain the deadly cancer, nothing else, otherwise war on an unimaginable scale is as inevitable as the sun rising tomorrow. There is a time when all diplomatic initiatives become hypocrisy, economic sanctions to bring down inferior nations to their knees irrelevant, and street demonstrations facing a vicious army absurd.

If and when Ukraine is dismembered into east and west, it is a lesser evil than a regional war involving all the powerful kings of the Earth, what the Book of Revelation calls Armageddon. Splitting Ukraine means a massive migration of pro-Westerns to the West and pro-Easterns to the East, a smaller price to pay than an ocean of blood. We learn lessons from the birth of Pakistan. There is resistance to this radical solution. Those for unity invite war. Those for dismemberment invite peace. The benefits of dismemberment is ridiculous to the vested interests of non-Ukrainians, pro-east or pro-west, and is ultimately humanly pro-Ukraine.

AFGHAN REVENGE – Social Karma

Social karma means someone does something really bad, and his friends around him suffer the consequences, not him. In many ways, either he does not care because he is not affected, or he is ignorant of the consequences of his action.

For a decade now, the U.S. military has been flying thousands of drones in Afghanistan, killing more innocent civilians than Taliban rebels, at a ratio of about 50 to 1. They call it ‘collateral damage’, a technical term for quasi-genocide.

Enter social karma. Recently, CNN exposed an Internet video of Al Queda operatives in Afghanistan forming a mass movement to attack America in any and every way. The video is sending panic across America. Citizens are preparing. NSA is sounding the alert. The Americans want the Pentagon to catch terrorists that the Pentagon has produced. They cannot see that the Pentagon is the social-karma culprit. There is no move to stop the drones or the people sending them, only the terrorists. Catching terrorists before they make their move is a tall order. The plague sweeping across America today is a combination of arrogance and ignorance. Their drones have produced a thousand terrorists hungry for vengeance. They keep security tighter and tighter, which is strangling their own people. Security thus becomes a form of terrorism. America has created its own terrorism on itself.
